The term "Final Fantasy" essentially means "Last Dream." If they're all a "Last Dream," then why does the series continue? I figure it's because each game is an entire story within itself, with universal morals and a little bit of fantasy to it. In other words, I think they're all called "Final Fantasy" because it's the end of an unrealistic occurrence of some sort. I can, however, be wrong in my interpretation...
Characters 10/10 *grumbles* I suppose that all of the characters fit into place... but I HATED them so -1!
Story-line 7/10 Hmm, I doubt it coulda' been better since most of the "Universal Messages" have been taken up. Y'know previous Final Fantasy games had themes about stuff occurring in the world today. For example, FF7 & nuclear energy and possibly cloning (?) and FF8 & missile crisis (FF9 had a retarded theme, so it doesn't count). FF10 sorta' had a theme: Use of machinery. Y'know a "Universal message" that shows what dangers it could lead to in the future (the stuff that visionaries predict). The whole machina thing was showing us that although we use machines today, it doesn't necessarily mean that we will be all high-tech in the future. We could possibly get as primitive as Spira (unfortunately). This fact would make me somewhat lenient on points within this category. However, I did not find Final Fantasy X to be the slightest bit sad nor did I find it romantic (it made me rather sick, actually). Therefore this category receives -2 for drama, for a total of 8/10. The story doesn't captivate or interest me, so -1. It would have been less, but Square Enix did not fail in terms of applying a message.
Action 10/10 Hey, Square Enix actually improved on this one! Alas, I still do not enjoy field battles anymore so the tad bit of frustration still stays on my shoulder as I play. (-__-*) Anyway, this is possibly its only high point.
Graphics/Music 10/10 Good...I guess. Moving right along...
Miscellaneous 8/10 I seriously have a problem with the lip sync of the characters. I think that when they were translating FFX into the English version, they should've really changed the lip motion. The lips don't move in synchrony with the words. For example, Yuna's lips keeps on moving even though words aren't coming out of her mouth. That has got to be the only time in my life I've seen that and I really hope it is the last because that was TERRIBLE! Another thing is the obvious changes of the character designs during the CGs. Is it just me or did anyone else notice how Tidus' eye color changes from a normal light blue (which looks best on him, even though I hate his guts) yet during the CGs they either turn brown or dark blue and his eyes are slanted (like he's Asian, but its quite obvious that he's not. He's Caucasian...). Since those 2 things screwed up the overall flavor of the game for me, -2!
Overall= 45/50 (90%) Eh, play it...some parts of the story really suck, but hey, the characters are pretty cool and the journey through Spira is kinda' fun, even though I hated Tidus & Yuna... (does it seem as though I always hate the main female character or what?). Anywayz, a lot of people I know felt sorry for Tidus and can sorta' relate to the whole Tidus/Jecht thingy, so ya'..play it.

Additional Comments: Look, if Square really wants to keep their company a little longer they have seriously gotta' improve on their games. It seems like they are falling behind. Look, they've already established themselves with the Final Fantasy franchise, but what they don't understand is that some of us gamers aren't just idiots that buy something just because it bears the name "Final Fantasy." Once something disappoints us, the urge to continue getting something decreases. I mean although I gave FFX a 90%, I discontinued purchasing further Final Fantasy games. From what has been described, FFX-2 has little action and FFXI is just a new way Square could milk money out of its franchise. But to all of you out there who are Final Fantasy fans to the end, feel free to go ahead and purchase Final Fantasy games. I wouldn't recommend it though.
