next day's entry
Dear Journal,

Blarg! What a super cruddy day!!! Ick. Well, on the bright side, its over.  (ooh, aren't i just the little ray of sunshine?)
I actually found an inspiration for a rant at a cool site: www.oocities.org/littlemouse67
The mouse signed my guestbook, and I looked at the site, and I found my rant!
Suggestion made: pay teacher (give raises) on account of the GPA (grade point average) of  students. I got the idea that the person suggesting this idea wants hard working teacher to receive thier well deserved raises. I agree!
But, a GPA does not messure a teacher's capabliity anymore than a standarized test shows intelligence levels (seeing that it only measures how well a student can predict a squence of letters namely: A, B, C, D, and sometimes E). Many teachers fail thier students with a vengence, and other give thier students easy A's. On the other hand, some teachers only expect reasonable thing from thier students, and the student behave too lasily to learn anything. If you take away a teacher's power to fail, you take away a student's main incentive to learn.
The knowledge that you cannot fail is encouraing news to slackers and procrastinators.
Teacher have a difficult, thankless job at it is. I think that, while a huge number of failures should result in some action, I do not think that paying by GPA level would help.
*Whew*
That let off some steam.
=)
Thank you, Mouse!
It may not be the answer to life,                                                                                           but that is today's rant. =)
