Introduction by SuperJonk:

Hey there everybody -- SuperJonk here with the goods. This report by the Infamous SG was actually done a while ago -- but I was held at bay as to how to present this.

The Infamous SG, has recently been hired to be the FIF News Correspondent for GodSka. GodSka is the leader in bringing the Internet the latest in Christian Ska news. SG, having traveled to the first FIF concert in 2001 -- has come back with a report on what FIF is doing these days.

FIF, as told by 5minutewalk.com, is slated to return to the studio, come May 2001. This new album is to bereleased Late Summer/Early Fall, coinciding with the major album release tour kick-off. (updated 02/26/01)Well, my esteemed colleague, the Infamous SG, has just let me know that there will be no "Greatest Hits Album." Even though some people have said otherwise. Just one album... new, with no title yet.

The following is the report by the Infamous SG (who has also conducted a brave Saint Saturn interview for JesusFreakHideout.com -- so I hope you all enjoy and keep checking back here at GodSka!

Five Iron Frenzy 2001 Report/Concert Review by the Infamous SG:

Five Iron Frenzy played their first show for the year 2001 on 3 February in Canton, OH. And had their first practice since September 2000 on the eve of that first show... Despite their lack of rehearsal the band was just as lively and fun as always, and it was quite possibly the best cold performance I've seen by them.

Some of the highlights of the evening: The band opening with their rendition of "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey, Reese forgetting the entire second verse of "A Flowery Song" and the words to a bunch of other songs as well, the "synchronized" dance routine Jeff and Reese and those who randomly felt like joining in did during the animal part of "A Flowery Song", watching Andy make faces during all of "You Probably Shouldn't Move Here", Brad rapping the words of Vanilla Ice during "Beautiful America", the fact that they sang "Beautiful America", the praise and worship after "Every New Day".

Despite the fact that it's end of the concert, the praise and worship time that often proceeds "Every New Day" is always my favourite part of the concert. Andy closed the time together with a really inspiring talk about how we don't really live unless we're living for Christ.

Despite all rumours to the contrary, the members of Five Iron Frenzy are normal people who lead pretty boring lives, especially when not on the road. Brad and Andy are doing the whole married thing (with their prospective wives, of course...), Jeff and Reese are going to school. I forget which classes they're taking but I'll let you know as soon as I remember (ed note: I know for sure one of Jeff's classes is Spanish -- Jonk).

Keith recently (as in after this was written, that's how recent) began working as Shift Manager at an arcade, Dennis is in California preparing for his wedding and helping some people start a club, or something like that, and Sonnie's in California doing whatever it is that he's doing these days. Micah is doing the same thing, but in Colorado. They have a few shows planned for this spring, but for the most part they're resting, playing disc golf and Scrabble, snowboarding, and whatever various activities they find to do. They begin recording this summer, but I don't think the actual date has been set yet. Then they set out in the fall on a big tour that's going to rock a lot, and one day I'll give you details on that. But not this day.
