| Here's the biggest bang for your buck: simply yanking the snorkel off the airbox. You'll notice an immediate increase in airbox growl, as well as the ability to rev out the bike easier. A little less of a brick wall torque curve. Unless you submerge to the seat, you're not going to have any problems with this mod. I'll eventually trim off the entire top of the airbox as many others have done. You can also put a "screen door" on the side, open where the sticker is in the picture. That mod of course is bound to result in a dirtier airbox if you ride your Supermoto off-road. | |

| The guys at Factory Pro tuning gave me a prototype jet kit they developed for the LC4. The Titanium needle wasn't ready yet, so I'm using a needle from a DR650 which is supposed to be close to their LC4 needle profile. This bike is a snap to work on-- main jet can be changed just by draining the bowl and opening the access plug. Pulling the tank and seat is necessary to get at the needle, but the carb and its cables stay put. I experimented with Factory's jet kit, and was quite pleased with driveability. It removed the "hunting" that the stock carb has when you're crusing. With a Big Gun quiet core (very close to stock performance) I had best 4th gear roll-on times with a 150 main. Factory's needle works well in the 3rd clip, and the pilot fuel screw at 3 T out is good. There's still a stumble when just cracking the throttle. I suspect the pilot air screw may help if I can find one. This is a US model, so it doesn't have that air solenoid setup on it. | |
