Kodachi Nitou Ryuu
Kodachi Nitou Ryuu is the waza used by Shinomori Aoshi in the Ruruoni Kenshin series. At first, Aoshi first used a combination of kempo and Kodachi skills. Though it would seem odd against skilled swordsman its really quite brillant on how this technique is used. I even credit the creator for this because this is really smart. Although, I am a hardcore person when it comes to fighting and especially with swords. Anyways, onto the reason why this is so great:
During the first fight between Aoshi and Kenshi; Kenshin reveals the art of Kodachi. Naturally, a regular samurai or swordmaster of some sort has a weak spot in close range combat due the length of their swords. Now, Aoshi utilizes this weakness to it's fullest since his Kodachi is a small sword he would trap the opponent using his Kodachi then pummel him using his Kempo techniques. An affective technique to minor and medium swordmasters but to the real deal who are willing to sacrifice a little they would know to shorten their length of their sword by grabbing the blade making the reach smaller thus being able to counter. A small sacrifice to win this battle.
Standard Sub-Waza's
Osusugi de Uguki-
A cheap move in my opinion. The individual would move constantly at varying speeds circulating his opponent creating multiple images of himself. This is used to disorient the opponent and thus when the opponent strikes chances are they'll fail thus allowing the individual to counter or attack at their exposed surface.
Kaiten Kenbu-
The follow up to the Osusugi de Uguki. The individual would strike at the exposed surface of their opponent after disorienting them with Osusugi de Uguki. The indiviual would use their legs to gain a momentary force to spin three times in the air with their Kodachi facing outwards towards their opponents chest.
Kaiten Kenbu Lokuren-(*Aoshi's finishing attack*)
This move is so fast that it's hard to explain each strike but I'll do my best to explain it. First the individual grips his two Kodachi blades backhanded so the point of the blade is facing away from the opponent. Then, the individual would strike with his left hand first, then interchanging between his left and right hands making a viscous six-slash assault across the opponents body.
Goku Juji-
This attack is done by crossing the Kodachi blades together forming a scissor-like shape. Afterwards, the indiviual would charge at the point trying to slice the opponents innards in their neck by un-crossing the Kodachi blades, like reversing the scissor shape making a cross attack.
Onmyou Hasshi-
A projectile attack. The individual requires a huge amount of skill to perform this. The individual would throw the two Kodachi blades one after another in a straight line. The opponent will only see one kodachin blade coming towards them in their line of vision instead of two. If the opponent counters or blocks the first blade he/she will have a split second to react to the next blade when they barely see the second blade coming.
