Yahiko was born in a samurai family during the new Meiji era. His father was killed trying to protest against the new Meiji Government. Left with his mother and himself Yahiko's mother had to turn to prostitution to help raise Yahiko until she died. Left all alone Yahiko was taken into a gang and was taught how to pickpocket against his own will. Yahiko never liked being a pickpocket which caused many arguments between him and the gang.
Yahiko isn't one of my favorite characters for several reasons. First, he is very weak but it's understandable but I don't really like weak characters unless they contribute in some way. Second, his character annoys me sometimes and I overall I just don't care for his character. He is good for comedic relief and for development of other characters but I don't enjoy his scene's in particular. I don't flat out hate Yahiko but I could care less for his character.
