By far this is my favorite Juppon Gatana member. Chou is an interesting and very unique character with his mulitple weapons and different fighting styles. Although it's been stated by other characters that Chou is the weakest member of the Jupun Gatana I believe otherwise.
In comparison to the other Jupun Gatana who made the raid against the Aoya many deductions can be made on who is really the weakest member of the Jupun Gatana. I mean, Chou was defeated by Himura Kenshin with a stronger Sakabatou.
You may think that he is weak because of this but think again, Henya was beaten by Myojin Yahiko, Kammatari was beaten by mainly Kaorou and Iwanbo coward away when outnumbered. If Chou had been part of the raid the situation could have easily be turned with his help. Chou could easily have turned the tide against them.
People have made the assumption that Chou was very weak due to the fact that he was easily defeated by Kenshin; however, the circumstances of the fight prove otherwise. Also, please remember that his opponent was Kenshin and so most people don't stand much of a chance against Kenshin anyways. People assume too much, so in my opinion Chou is a lot stronger than what was shown.
Chou is probably from Osaka are at least around the Kansai area as he carries a thick Kansai accent that is very interesting to hear if you've never heard it before. It's something that adds to his character.
