Tanaka rose to prominance thanks in part to his unbelievably brutal matches with Mike Awesome, a series that eventually brought both men to the United States to continue their wars in ECW rings. Tanaka even captured the ECW World Title briefly in 1999. Following the demise of both FMW and ECW, the master of the rolling elbow continued to compete in both the United States and Japan, most notably in promotions such as Zero-One, Ring of Honor, and of course his appearance at ECW's One Night Stand reunion show in June 2005. However, Masato continues to forge forward to add to his legacy, and Tanaka's hard-hitting Japanese style will be a perfect fit into the diverse pool of 1PW talent. |
