American Fuzzy Lop is a small fluffy rabbit. It
is approx 3 to 4 lbs with short maintain wool. There
are many different colors. We have chestnut, opal, black, blue, and broken.
They make wonderful pets. They are raised for show and pets. They should
be brushed daily so their wool does not mat. The Fuzzy Lop originated from
Holland Lops and Angorias. Fuzzy Lops were accepted by the ARBA in 1985. They are
very friendly, cuddly and make nice pets.
The Californian rabbit is a white rabbit with
black ears, nose, feet, tail and eye brows. The eyes are pink and the fur is
coarse which flies back into place. It is a medium to large rabbit weighing approx. 9 to 11 lbs. They
are raised for show, pet and meat. The Californian originated from a cross
between a Himilayan, Standard Chinchilla and a white New Zealand. The
Californian was accepted by the ARBA in 1928 as a recognized breed.
Dutch
rabbits are known as a fanciers breed. They are one of the oldest breeds and
most popular of the fancier pets. The Dutch is a small animal weighing about 4 to 5 1/2
lbs. They are distinguished by their very special markings. They have a
blaze on their nose, a semi straight line around their middle, the feet or
"stops" have a semi straight line, and they have equal color on their
checks. They originated in Holland but moved to England in 1864. They come in 6
different varieties of colors which are black, blue, brown gray, steel,
chocolate and tort. They are a recognized breed of the ARBA.
The
Flemish Giant is the largest recognized rabbit by the ARBA. They
can be up to 20+ lbs. Normally they are 14 to 18 lbs and are known as the
gentle giants. They have a semi arch body type and long ears. They come in
black, blue, fawn, lt. gray, sandy, steel and white. They are raised as pets and
show rabbits but can be used as meat.
French
Lops are the biggest in the lop eared rabbit weighing approx. 10 to 12
lbs. They have massive bodies and heads. They are raised for show, pets, and
can be used for meat. The French lop comes in many different colors.
We have chestnut, chin, broken tort, and fawn colors. The French Lop originated
in the mid 1800's and are a cross of Flemish Giant and English Lops.
The Holland
Lops are small size rabbits weighing approx 3 to 4 lbs. Holland
Lops have a short compact body. They make wonderful pets and show animals. The
Holland was 1st found in 1948 and was finally sanctioned by the ARBA in
1976. The Holland was a cross between the French Lop and the Netherland
Dwarf. There are many varieties of Holland Lops. We have chestnut,
tort, broken tort and broken tri for varieties.
Mini Lops are medium size rabbits weighing approx.
4 1/2 to 6 1/2 lbs. They come in a variety of colors. The colors
we have are chestnut, chin, opal, black, blue, tort, broken and
Tri-colors. They are wonderful pets and are also great for show.
Mini
Rex are small compacted velvety rabbits weighing approx 3 to 4 1/2 lbs.
The Mini Rex is a special rabbit because it has no guard hair (all the hair is
one length). The guard hair is the hairs that make the fur coarse.
The mini Rex comes in many colors. It is one of the newest breeds, recognized
by the ARBA in 1988. The Rex rabbit is known as the Velveteen Rabbit which
the mini rex is just a smaller version. We have black, blue, chocolate,
broken chocolate, broken black, broken blue and tri colors.
The Netherland
Dwarfs are small rabbits weighing approx. 2 to 2 1/2 lbs. They are one of the smallest breeds.
They have a small body shaped like a ball and a head that is big in comparison to
their body. They come in many colors. They were sanctioned by the ARBA in
1969. They are a cross between a polish and a wild rabbit. They make
wonderful show animals and pets. We have red eyed white, black, chestnut,
sable point , black otter, and Himilayan .
The New
Zealand is a medium to large rabbit. Weighing approx 9 to 12 lbs. The
New Zealand can be white with pink eyes, black with brown eyes and red
with brown eyes. They are raised for pets, show and meat. The red
New Zealand was the 1st of the New Zealand colors. It is believed they originated from a cross between a Belgian hare and a white rabbit. The
white originated from a cross of Flemish Giant, American white and Angorias.
The red New Zealand became recognized in 1912, the white in 1920 and the blacks
was much later by the ARBA.
Polish are a small rabbit weighing approx. 1 to 3 1/2 lbs.
They come in 5 different colors which are black, blue, chocolate, blue eye white
and red eye white. They have short little bodies. They were bred in
Poland. We have black, blue and chocolate.
Satin
are medium to large rabbits which are approx 8 1/2 to 10 lbs. They
have very silky fur, that shines. They come in a variety of colors.
They were bred in Indies and were developed by a chocolate Havana. They are
wonderful pets, show rabbits and can be used for meat. We have black, blue,
chin, red, Siamese, and white.
The Silver
Fox is a medium to large rabbits weighing approx 9 to 12 lbs full grown.
There are blue, black and whites. They have unique fur that sticks up straight
when brushed backwards. They were first introduced to the ARBA in
1925. They are still trying to sanction and get approval from the ARBA on
the Blue variety. They are great pets, show animals and meat animals.
