Leavey School of Business

I GRADUATED!- March of 98- from SCU- with a Bachelors degree in Business Management and Organizational Analysis. You may be asking yourself, "Self, what is she going to do with a degree in THAT!?". Well, I have landed an entry-level position in the Human Resoureces department at a software company, and want to eventually become an HR Director of either Services (Employee Relations) or Training and Organizational Development. I like the inside look at the business, as well as the employees that make the company successful, which I can see by working in this area. I think that a business degree from Santa Clara shows potential employers that you are capable in more than one area, and that you have the skills necessary in the "REAL WORLD" (I love that tv show). Click here to see Santa Clara's web page. I would urge anyone who is interested to go to school there- it is a gorgeous campus, has great instructors (especially management professors) and a friendly atmosphere.

I am very proud to say, that I graduated with honors and was invited to join Beta Gamma Sigma- the prestigious business honor's society. Yahoo for me!- I'd like you all to know that I worked my butt off for that!

A little journal entry from my Senior year-Fall Quarter

"So far, this quarter has been kicking my butt. I am taking 20 units and working 20 hours a week, not to mention that I also am trying to maintain a social life! I'm taking the Capstone Business Class- for seniors, the class that's supposed to wrap all our business work together. Unfortunately, the class is super vague, with little applicable reading or lecture topics and I feel like the whole point of the class is to write a huge group paper (60+ pages)! Ok, enough complaining. I am taking two classes that I like, however. One is Industrial Relations- the study of union and management relationships. The teacher is the head of my major, and I feel like that might have something to do with why I like it. I am also taking my third writing requirement for English- Practical Tutor Composition- where seniors get paired with English 1 students to tutor them, and then write papers about the experience. My student is super sweet- and I actually look forward to meeting with her, much better than reading some assigned text or essay! I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to do quite as well this quarter as I did last quarter- but I'm very happy to say that I will register next week for my last undergraduate quarter!!!!"
