Slag is a combat decker with a less that battle orientated mindset. If that sounds like an oxymoron to you, then you would be correct. Slag knows how to shoot, but tends to get flustered by the sights and sounds of high intensity situations. When you get him plugged in, however, he can deck with the best of them. He talks a good game, but just don't put him in charge of guarding the hostages.
