Episode 1

The guy who did not want to play...
Adam is the first
person voted off in
the ONE

Adam, a 16-year old student, becomes the first one to leave the ONE. He was eliminated after a 7-1-0-0 decision in a very quiet and relaxed Elimination. He was voted off after he quietly told some other contestants that he wishes to leave the game.

In the beggining
The ONE starts out with 12 people: Kyle, Ariana, Diego, Adam, Hadley, Adam, Beth, Brenda, Darren, Toby, Ashley and Cathy. (More info on contestants available here.) Every week, they have to participate in the Big DAre and try to win. The BD winner then chooses certain number of people to participate in Extra Challenge, to earn extra points.
Their main goal is to escape elimination, most preferrably by escaping nominations. The people who are not nominated will then decide who will go and who will stay. In the end, 3 will remain and they will participate in a final single challenge to decide who wins and becomes the ONE.

First impressions, will they last?
First impressions are critical in the first days of any games. It might develop into alliances or, in many cases, conflicts amongst contestants. Some are seen as a threat; Diego, for example, says, "Kyle he is playing this game since the very begining and a posible threat on future." On the other hand, Toby has a different view of Kyle: "Kyle is nice and is in other games with me."
Some people in the game are even having some difficulties with other people. However, a lot of them realizes the fact that they will need to shut their mouth if they will stay in this game. Cathy puts it this way: "I don't like some people because they are boring, but I need to shut my mouth to escape nominations. I want to be chosen for every single EC."

Big Dare 1: Canadian Hockey Teams
The first Big Dare was to find out what are the Canadian cities with entries to the National Hocky League. There are only six answers: Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton. For every correct answer, they get 2 pts, for every extra team which does not actually exists, they are given 1 pt penalty.

Some contestants actually find this very easy. "I wonder why the Big Dare is very easy," says Cathy, the 18-year old student from Victoria, Canada. The host, Kelvin, said in an official statement : "The first challenge was really designed to be easy to 'warm-up' the contestants."
In the end, 6 people got the correct answers, but it was Kyle, a 17 year-old student, that submitted first. He had to choose 5 other people to participate in the Extra Challenge.

Kyle's EC list
Kyle chose Adam, Ashley, Hadley, CAthy and Toby for the Extra Challenge.
Kyle won the
first ever Big Dare

Kyle's list got mixed 'reviews' from fellow competitors. Ariana, the 28-year old single mom, says, "From Kyle's list it seems that not many of them participated. Maybe that was Kyle's strategy so he could get a lot of points and not be near the bottom of the ladder so I have respect for him and not impressed with all of the 0 pointers." Meanwhile, Ashley confesses, "I think that Kyle's EC participant list was pretty obviously chosen." For whatever she meant, who knows?
Of course, thos who have been chosen has nothing but good words for Kyle, although some of them find him confusing. Toby, the 42-year old contestant, explains: "I am glad he picked me. He told me by yahoo mess. that he picked me because I was active but then he says he was trying to pick inactive people. lol So I am not sure whether he misspoke or whether he meant he put me and himself on the list and then picked inactive people for the rest so only me and him would get points. I didn't ask. lol But I appreciate him picking me."

Extra Challenge: No Boundaries
In the Extra Challenge, another easy duty was given. The six participants were asked to submit the names of the 12 contestants of another reality tv game called "No boundaries". Ashley, Cathy, Toby and Kyle participated in this challenge, while Adam and Hadley never did.
