Well, happy Millinum to all you purists out there.
New Year's eve was quiet for me. It snowed. Ray said he was
tired and wanted to go to bed so Ray opened the champange at
10p and by 10.30 we were both nothing but two piles of giggles
on the couch. We had sex finishing up a few minutes before midnight.
I listened for gun fire but didn't hear any. That was the first
New Year's Eve that I've never heard gunfire at midnight.

The Oklahoma University Sooners are National Champs, winning
over Flordia in the Orange Bowl. I have no idea what any of that
means but that's what the guys on the news are saying.
It's a big deal here. They interupted the sitcoms to bring
us 'live breaking news when they landed a the airport."
I was watching channel 4 at the time and the woman says in this
excited almost breathless voice, "the OU Sooners have just
landed on Oklahoma soil for the first time since winning the
Orange Bowl. Bob and Linda, back to you." I swear that is
exactly what she said.
I turned it off a bit later, but apparently a helicopter followed
the buses that took the team back to OU for a press conference
and party. How I know this is when the buses got a bit boring
the chopper was sent to follow a high speed police chase which
was splashed over the morning news the next day.

Yesterday was Mary's birthday. I went to Norman to see here.
George picked us up and we met up with Ray and Fawad at Bricktown
54. It's a club in Bricktown modeled after Studio 54. They have
the 'world's most dangerous bar staff' and play 70's and 80's
music.
There is a canal that snakes through Bricktown. You go down
to canel level, are checked by the door staff for appropriate
attire, ie: no jeans, no sneakers and id'd. No cover before 9p.
Then you go in, around the corner and catch the elvator up to
the 3d floor.
During "Stayin' Alive" The World's Most Dangerous
Bar Staff got up on their bars and danced little chorographed
dances. They don't really have much room to move so they stood
in one place and just moved their arms and hips. One barkeep
was so cute. Brown and tall, just the way me and Mary like 'em.
We made several trips to the bar and tried to catch his eye to
make us a drink but he seemed to find something else to do when
we came up. We just asked the guy to make us a "Sissy, Fruity
Girly Drink." We ended up with and orangatan and alien secreations.
On our own she got a tequila sunrise and I got a madori sour.
Rob was our designated driver and Fawad made sure Ray got home
ok.
This is a classy place, they had bathroom attendants and a
clean bathroom. Two things I've never seen in a club before.
The one thing that bothered me about the bathroom was that the
floors were too polished. They were black, shiny and reflected
your hiney and everything else that you did or didn't have.

I joined a gym.............ok, go get a paper towel and wipe
the coke off the moniter.
It's a ladies only gym. Yesterday was my first day. I was
weighed and measured and put on the treadmill for 20 minutes
to warm my sorry puny ass up before being showed the weight machines.
She filled out a chart noting the machines, how many sets and
reps per set and weight. Some machines I could handle up to 40
pounds and there are a few that I can only do without a pin (10
lbs). But I figure that I averaged 25 lbs. which really surprised
me.
At the last gym I belonged to (3-4 yrs ago) there were exercises
that after 5 days a week for 2 1/2 months I was still only at
5 pounds.
There was only 1 machine I couldn't do. It works the glutes
and is where I lay on my stomach supported by my elbows and press
my foot straight up against a flat surface. At only 10lbs I could
only do 3 reps on my left leg before I was feeling major pain.
I could probably do it if the surface that I kick against was
about 12 inches lower.
I figured I'd be a little sore in the morning so I took some
tylnol before bed and put asprin and water on the nightstand.
Woke up around 3a a little stiff but not sore. The alarm went
off at 6a and I took the asprin and went back to sleep for another
hr. Got up feeling pretty good. Haven't had any pain reliver
since lunch and I'm feeling pretty good.
I go back tomorrow and I'm thinking since I'll be doing a
full workout instead of the orientation from yesterday, I'm going
to be sore Thursday.

I found a place to quilt the quilt I'm giving to Mary. It'll
be ready in 3-5 weeks.
