contours. Red contours mean strong wind, purple means

ahead but all on the same page. These charts also show
the 500mb height contours (the jet stream). |

| Medium-term wave prediction charts |
| Separate charts of wave
height and period. Period is useful in distinguishing
between windsea and swell (short period = windsea, long
period = swell). |

| Long-term wave prediction charts |
| Predictions of wave
heights and direction of wave travel for up to 5 days
ahead. Less reliable, and they don't go right up to the
coast, but useful nonetheless. |
