| First he takes the oath Then he takes it in stride when people call him "pig" He takes on creeps you would just be scared to look at He takes time away from his family for you He takes your injured child to the hospital He takes the graveyard shift because its his turn He takes his life in his own hands on a daily basis He takes you home when your car breaks down He takes the time to explain why both of your headlights must work He takes the job no one else wants, telling you a loved one has died He takes criminals to jail and takes their abuse while doing so He takes in sites that would make you fall to your knees Sometimes he cries also, but he takes it, because someone has to If he is lucky, he will take his retiement He takes memories to bed with him each and every night that you could not bear for one night. Sometimes he takes a bullet, and yes sometimes he takes a free cup of coffee Then one day he pays for all that he has taken and God takes him home |
