Sashimi

Presentation is very important. According to tradition, it is always served in an odd number of pieces.

Sashimi means "raw". Uncooked fish and shell-fish are often served as a starter in sushi-establishments.

Any kind of fish that you can eat uncooked is suitable for sashimi.

Especially salmon and tuna taste very nice.

For sashimi, you can use slices of fish the same size you use for "nigiri-zushi"
