DIARY

5th September (Diary according to Daniel Hiles)

Up earlyish to head over to Buda-rain is falling but we don't let anything stop us these days, take funicular up castle hill-we figured it would be easier to walk down that up. Still raining but we still get pretty good view-look round but unsure what all the buildings actually are. Go in labyrinth, very strange and didn't quite understand Hungarian humour but still worth it. Had supermarket lunch-cheese rolls and cake, Mike and Tim are boycotting bread rolls! Head down, Liz and I go separate way. We head to indoor market to buy gifts for parents. Rain is starting to bug me-wet feet again. Me and Liz find groovy bar with straw on the floor and you can just throw monkey nuts shells on floor! Agreed to meet guys back at hostel before watching the football. Stop at restaurant on way back I HAVE CARP!! (gutted Tim!), struggle to not think about same fish I have caught. Liz has hungarian stew. Head back to hostel but with nowhere to watch the footy-success the boys have done us proud and found an Irish bar showing the match. They found dead cheap chinese- may well return tomorrow. ENGLAND 2 - 0 ALBANIA!! Another glorious victory, atmosphere in bar could have been anywhere in England. Liz and I head home and Mike and Tim enjoy some local entertainment until the early hours!?!?
