6th September (Diary according to Daniel Hiles)

After waiting for shower and breakfast we headed off to Heroes square, appeared to be some sort of military event on and we get moved on after quick photo opportunity. Walk around rather nasty park-nothing on Vondelpark! And check out baths. Catch metro back into town and get lunch from indoor market-I finally had goulash, Tim had potato/salami stuff, Mike had manky kebab and Liz?? Had, well, salad! Liz and I went off again, she bought pressie for sis. Decided to walk hill to statue and then to Citadel-meet boys at the top. We get breathtaking view all around Budapest. Head down to Hotel Gellert where my jammy sod of a father stayed on business-looks like different world inside. Boys head down via hanging gardens of Babylon and arrive back at hostel. Head to supermarket for lunch tomorrow, back to chinese, £1.50 for rice, dish and drink! Liz argued over £2.50 change for ½ hour but gets it back in the end, off to some bars where I promptly run out of money. Couple of bars and then home.
