8th September (Diary according to Daniel Hiles)

Strange night's sleep as loads of noise from other people staying at hostel. Up fairly early (getting used to this but it would be nice to have a proper lie-in!). Go for walk around town, lower town and station. Failed miserably to phone Slovenian hostels as phones are rubbish. We check out outdoor market and then back to train-13:05 to Ljubljana. Arrive-Guess what?-rain!! Man at information desk kindly informed us that ALL hostels in Ljubljana were closed! So set off for Hotel Park, 10,000 tollars each (£15 each!) We arrive and get room with no shower plus with student discount it becomes (6,800 tollars (£10 each!) so much happier. This is probably the best place we have stayed, and again Slovenia looks much nicer than I anticipated. Sort our stuff out and then head to river to find nightlife/restaurants etc. Just for a change we decide on a pizzeria, they again serve huge pizzas. Before meal we went to a skeleton theme pub, all had local beer and I got overchanged-which is nice! After meal we went to a couple of bars, 1 down by the river with comfy cushions to lounge around on and 1 up by riverbank ( all £1 a pint). Ljubljana looks really nice at night.
