17th September (Diary according to Daniel Hiles)

Up at 9ish and Tim calls at co-op to buy (proper) cereal-variety pack. We then set off with grey skies and it has turned very cold but we're getting used to it by now. Back down to the lake and walk round it for a while and again check out knives. This morning we moved into the other hostel and found knives even cheaper there so will buy them there later. Nothing to really go see so we have chilled walk (makes nice change) until lunchtime and grab baguette while boys have BK/McD's. Liz and I check out other side of lake and we meet back at hostel at 3 to buy knives (Dan=2, Mike=2, Tim=5!!!) Chill out at hostel for a while and then go and check out the UN building (appears heavily guarded maybe due to terrorist threat at present) but has crazy, massive chair at front. Walk through botanical gardens and off back to restaurant from last night but me and Mike opt for chicken and chip[s while Liz and Tim go back. Buy beer from co-op and go back to hostel, play cards, phoned sis etc. Then fairly early to bed as we have to catch 7:51 am TGV to Paris with meagre £2 supplement.
