27th August (Diary according to Daniel Hiles)

Up early to catch 8:13am train to Berlin, looking forward to no longer being in dorms. First really long journey (6+ hours) but seemed to go pretty quick, managed to stay awake aswell! Arrived in Berlin Zoo in afternoon, sussed out metro and got to hostel (eventually!) Lette'm sleep. Really helpful guy at reception, we checked out room verdict-10 times better than dorms!! Set out for walk around neighbourhood, came back 4 hours later! With aching legs and having been up the TV tower (Fernsehturm) 202.25m!!!! Had fantastic view of city already starting to feel a bit more at home here despite daunting size of the city. Too late for the supermarket so we buy beer and pizza thing and eat back at the hostel. Went out in evening in local streets for beers-Berliner Pilsener.
