DIARY

31st August (Diary according to Daniel Hiles)

The weathers gone bad! Constant drizzle and once in town Tim is the only one sensible enough to have brought waterproofs out, we have to head back to hostel to pick up ours. Prague, like everywhere else, does not look as nice in the rain. Undaunted, the intrepid 4 head to the castle and to St.Vitus cathedral. Not convinced by the medieval nature of the castle but cathedral had spectacular architecture and stunning stained glass windows. Not knowing what we had let ourselves in for we headed up the seemingly endless spiral staircase of the bell tower (285 steps), again appear to have aching legs although this is now becoming a regular occurrence, but the view is worth it. Back down the stairs to marvel at the southern façade and mosaic, 16:45 and all other attractions close! Head home as we don't want to eat tonight and planning to go to club (biggest in middle Europe). Eat in nice restaurant-Rump steak, beer, bread =£3.50!! After another bar stop we head to club expecting cheesy/expensive. 40p a pint and 5 floors of different music, looks like I was wrong. Turned out to be a brilliant night, 1st time truly drunk in nearly 2 weeks away!
