January 2001 Summary

Due to inclement weather the opportunity to watch the reservoir was limited for the first month of the year, however a brief summary shows that there was indeed plenty of birdlife present.  Gull numbers were relatively high as birds came in to wash before heading south to their roosts. Duck numbers were also encouraging, considering the large flooded areas across the south-west. A single adult Peregrine was probably the highlight of the month.
