September 2002 Summary

September proved to be quite an exceptional month yet again, with several local rarities with two Garganey and five Ruddy Duck representing wildfowl interest, and at least two Ospreys and two Hobbies keeping raptor interest up. A late Swift was unexpected, and a single Common Tern and up to three Black Terns were noted. Waders started to appear, though in small numbers.
