feeling | excited, ecstatic, happiness, *woop* (yet sick)

ok, i know it is seriously updatage time!! profuse apologies to you all for not making more time to write more entries, but alas i have not died - my lack of entries is simply due to my extreme state of BUSINESS!!

wow i don't know where to start. so so so much has happened. i guess it is easiest if i only cover the last couple of weeks briefly.

dan arrived in sydney on sunday 2nd december. i met him at the train station at 6.30am and we hit it off amazingly!! better than i ever expected we would. we spent the day together in bondi and succeeded in getting very burnt. in fact, my left arm is still flaking a little. but we had a fantastic day, so it was all worth it. we walked up around the cliffs near south bondi and even saw a few 2nd rate celebrities.

that night we made our way to my place in newcastle and stayed here for a few days. i took dan out on the town on wednesday night and introduced him to some of my friends. much alkimahol was consumed and sore heads eventuated the next morning.

then it was off to sydney again on thursday, this time to meet up with vic, liz and nick.

dan, emma and i met nick and vic at central station, the four of us then made our way to penrith rsl to witness an intimate 3 song acoustic set by something for kate that was being recorded by mmm radio. upon arriving we were each given 2 free drink coupons. throughout the afternoon we acquired more of these and dan and i ended up with 9 free beers each and the others, a number of free soft drinks (they don't like beer).

then sfk came on. *sigh* we ran up and sat on the floor about 2m in front of them and they performed stunning renditions of three dimentions, 20 years and monsters. *bliss* then nick, dan and vic all got copies of the 20 years single autographed. we then made our way back to the city and organised to meet up at the hopetoun later that night.

arriving at the hoey, i spied liz and this induced lots of loud squealing, hugging and kissing. i hadn't seen liz for a year, so i was rather excited. it turned out that dan, emma and i had missed decoder ring's set, so we went down the street to a pub for a few beers and a chat. we then organised to meet up the next day in the city.

friday involved a trip into circular quay and going to kings cross to see knievel. then saturday was homebake.

saturday morning was miserable! i was wearing a skirt and an ash singlet, but once we got to martin place the wind started howling and the rain was teeming down. it was horrid! i thought homebake was going to turn into a mud bath like it did a few years ago. vic, liz, nick and alex were late in meeting up with us as liz, alex and nick decided to pick up a $15 jumper each form lowes. i then suggested we head to starbucks for coffee for an hour before we ventured to the site in hope that the rain would subside within that time.

eventually the rain did ease, and we deceitfully made our way to the head of the queue into the domain. this meant we only had to stand in line for about 5 minutes, as opposed to a couple of hours. i usually hate people who do that, but bugger standing around waiting to get in!

during the day i met ALLY (!!!!!), saw brodles, marianne, flick, andy, bevo, kylie and am. i also witnessed sets by decoder ring, the hive, endorphin (damn we missed ty from george sing), speedstar, big heavy stuff, bluebottle kiss (OMG they were AWESOME!!), machine gun fellatio, something for kate, george, you am i, alex lloyd, john butler trio and TISM.

after TISM, vic and nick went to talk to the manwhore. he told them that he would be able to find laminates to get us all into the homebake after party, so we made our way toward the metro.

we hung around near the metro for an hour, but still no sign of jamie. we learnt that it was possible to use VIP passes, as well as laminates to get into the after party, and we already had 3 VIP passes with us. now to find another two. turns out nick and vic's friend bron had a spare and then we were able to buy another from someone for $10, and we were in!

however, once inside it was rather dull. i bought 2 beers and stood next to tim rogers at the bar both times. john butler was there, as was dave mccormack, the rest of you am i, augie march (who would have thought of them as the partying type), bodyjar, one dollar short, clint from sfk, sarah from the superjesus (pashing on with beau chris from silverchair) and machine gun fellatio.

we left about an hour later, but it then took another hour to find a taxi willing to drive us back to bondi.

the next day it was early to rise once again as we were going to see george's matinee show at the clarendon guesthouse in katoomba. we got a ride with rock journalist extraordinaire, craig new. in order to get this lift, we had to go to his house, which he shares with jay whalley of frenzal rhomb. (:P to any frenzal rhomb fans).

upon arriving at the clarendon we were greeted by the george kiddies with hugs and kisses and warm hellos. we were lucky enough to not only witness their 3.30pm set, but also their soundcheck. just vic, nick, dan and i, their sound guy and the band. *sigh* it was bliss.

we had another chat with the band after their set finished and told them we would see them in brisbane next week, and then we made the 2 hour trip back to the city in time for nick's gig at la bar in oxford street that night.

nicky was wonderful and it was great to see him live for the 1st time!

the next day nicky left for brisbane and then the following day vic went home to adelaide. :( i miss her so much already! i will just have to keep thinking about the fact that she will soon be living in brissy, which means it will be much easier to see her.

and now i am at home, getting prepared to leave tomorrow evening for two weeks in brissy. *exciting* i just hope dan and i get over our respective colds/ailments quickly so we will have a better time while we are away.

so, i guess that's it. you probably shouldn't expect another entry from me until i get back from brisbane just before the new year.
