Owned and operated a saloon at 431 Central Avenue, Jersey City, in 1897. The 1900 Census shows Eliza living in Weehawken with her husband and her sister, Lena. She is reported to be the mother of two living children, but none are living with her.

From the Jersey Journal of May 28, 1896 page one: Louis Stork, a lithographer, 29 years old, of 151 South Street, was found dead at 4;30 o'clock this morning on Columbia Avenue, about fifty feet north of Thorne Street. Indications are that Stork committed suicide by poison. Stork, the police say, had bad habits, He has been acting queerly of late. John Willey, a driver for August Beyer, a baker, of 208 Webster Avenue, discovered the body. The lips were discolored and the glands of the neck were swollen. In the trousers pockets was found a letter to Miss Stork, of 151 South Street, which said that the writer was tired of the life he was leading and that he had determined to end it. the letter addressed to Miss Stork was intended for the wife of saloon-keeper, C,F, Heitman. Mr. Heitman said to a Journal reporter that he would not divulge its contents until the members of the family were consulted. He said it was probable that his brother-in-law had committed suicide. An qutopsy will be held. If Stork's death should prove a suicide, it will be the eight case in the Sixth Precinct since January 1. this precinct leads the city in suicides.

From the Hudson Dispatch, Friday March 8, 1935:

William Stork, 72 fo 355 Ogden Avenue, West Englewood, NJ, a former resident of Jersey City and father of John Stork, assistant caretaker of the Central Avenue police station of Jersey City, died yesterday morning after a long illness.

Mr. Stork was born in New York and resided many years in Jersey City moving to Bergen County ten years ago. In addition to his son, he is survived by his wife, Susie Pals Stork, and two daughters, Mrs. Edwina Frehling and Mrs. Elizabeth Hesson.

He was a member of Stuben Lodge #1630 I.O.O.F. member of which will hold a rite at the home at 8 o'clock tonight. The funeral will be held at the home at 2:00 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Interment will be in Weehawken Cemtery under the director of Beddgies and Seitz, Jersey City.

From the Jersey Journal: Mrs. Helen Stork (nee Guy), 92, of 101 Main Street, Ridgefield Park died at 4 p.m. yesterday at her home following a long illness. Born in London, England, she resided in the village 52 years. Mrs. Stork was a member of St. Mary's the Virgin Episcopal Church 50 years. She was the mother of the late Fred Stork, a former Commander of Ridgefield Park American Legion Post. She was the widow of John. Surviving are 2 daughters, Miss Helen Stork, with whom she resided and Mrs. Dorothy Brengard, and two sons, George and John, all of the village.

The following obituary is from the Jersey Journal: John B. Stork, 59, was Police Station Custodian. John B. Stork, 59, of 118 Thorne Street, Jersey City, custodian of the Sixth Precinct police station, Jersey City, and an athlete in his younger days, died at 10:30 o'clock yesterday morning at his residence of a heart condition. Born in Jersey City, Mr. Stork had always resided in the 12 th Ward. He was appointed custodian of the stationhouse Oct 3, 1922.

Mr. Stork, who was not called into service during World War I, was an outstanding baseball player with the old Jersey City Egberts, one of New Jersey best known semi-professional clubs prior to World War I and after it. Another player on the team was Harry J. Thourot, now mayor of Union City. The custodian's only club affiliation was 12 th Ward Regular Democratic Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Foelch Schuler Stork; a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Murgittroyd, 474 Central Avenue, Jersey City; and two sisters, Mrs. Winnie Fehling, West Englewood, and Mrs. Bessie Hesson, Clearwater, Fla.

Service will be conducted at Otto Mack Funeral Home, Jersey City, at 8:30 o'clock tomorrow night and the funeral will be at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning with cremation in New York and New Jersey Crematory, North Bergen.
