Over Christmas & New Year 2001 NSW suffered serious bushfires which were fanned by strong westerly winds and temperatures approaching 40 degrees. Luckily, Clybucca missed out on the fires this time around but one large fire burnt out the whole headland at South West Rocks. We watched it burn by night and there was a thick smoke haze by day, followed by blood red sunsets over Clybucca Creek. |
