SHOUT!
Port Macquarie
|
The story of Johnny O'Keefe, the "Wild
One" of 1960s Australian Rock'n'Roll. A very energetic history
- very Sydney, very 60s.
Most of the performers would not have
been born until well after the 60s but many of the people in
the audience were there in Sydney in the 60s. All knew the words
to all of the songs and sang along and there was dancing in the
aisles. I could see the faces of 16 year old screaming girls
in the mature faces - nostalgia reigned supreme!
I was in Sydney for the first half
of the 60s and though young, I remember the feel and the music
of 60s Sydney.
A very upbeat and enjoyable show for
a mature audience.

BANGARRA DANCE THEATRE
Taree Entertainment Centre
|
I first saw Bangarra at the Olympics
Arts Festival in 2000 at Sydney and was absolutely enthralled.
This show at Taree didn't disappoint. One dance was about sand
turtles and sand rained from the ceiling. Bangarra Dance theatre
combines Aboriginal stories with modern dance and the result
is truly spectacular. |

JOHN FARNHAM
THE LAST TIME TOUR
In the Big Tent at Port Macquarie
|
What can you say about one of
Australia's top entertainers? The concert was most enjoyable.
John Farnham has been around forever. I partiularly remember
him from Expo '88 in Brisbane. |
