The Building of the M-PAH

After delays due to rain, the new multi-purpose animal habitat was finally finished and the animals were moved in. These are views of the animal houses from my verandah.

Plants and Flies

The shed is on a big mound so I have extra garden space to landscape. I started landscaping the mound by scavenging plants that were in the wrong place around the house. Then I planted the long side with palms and gardenias. After a week of really hot weather (up to 42 degrees), it is obvious that the shed needs lots of shade. The plants should be big enough by next summer to provide good shade. Next I need to source some citrus trees for inside the yard. Shelley leaves citrus trees alone! I tried a chilli plant in the yard. Shelley wasn't too keen on the taste but the chooks jumped up to eat the chillis so the plant was put outside the yard.

Flies are a perennial problem in the chook shed so I bought some "fly catchers". They contain a fly attractant and then trap and drown the flies.
