More Drought

But this is getting ridiculous....It just won't rain. I survived Winter even though grain & hay more than doubled in price but now I expect some grass to grow. It would if it would rain...

Donna & Gordana cows are in the house paddock eating the last of the grass and soon they will be in my garden area eating whatever they can find. I give up on the gardens - they are on their own. The first six garden mounds are now established with native (drought-resistant) plants so they will probably survive. I will concentrate on watering my newly planted fruit & nut trees. And, of course, when the plants are in a stressed state, all of the bugs start to munch on them. Only the weeds are growing well.

We are now on Stage 2 water restrictions for the town water - can only use a hand-held hose between 8-10pm (in the dark when the mozzies come out). Lack of water is becoming a real problem. Both of my big ponds are almost dry - the water lilies are dying off yet again & soon I will have to put the cows onto town water.

So here are some photos of my water lilies before they all die...
