Flags etc

You can always count on wind at Clybucca so it is a great place for flags. I have a collection on the fence around the aviary. The NSW state flag was difficult to obtain & I'm still not sure how I came by it. The Eureka flag came into being in 1854 when miners on the Ballarat goldfields built a stockade and fought police because they were discontent with the system of mining licences and not being represented in the Victorian legislative council. The flag represents the stars of the southern cross on a blue background. The Boxing Kangaroo originated when Australia II finally won the America's Cup in Perth in 1983 but the flag is now seen at other sporting events.
