Lake Clybucca

Flooded Back Paddocks

Well, it's not really a lake. It is our flooded paddocks. We've had lots of rain this summer and this is the second time that the lake has appeared. For the next few weeks, there will be dozens of water birds swimming around the paddocks especially wild ducks and black swans. But this big bird is not a usual visitor. If it had red legs, it would be a jabiru - one of the largest land birds and the only member of the stork family found in Australia.

Strange Bird

And at night, there is the sound of all sorts of animals that have been attracted to the water.
