Paperbarks Flowering

A paperbark tree has the most tactile bark - it is soft and powdery and can be peeled off the tree in thin layers in hues of cream and orange. Now that the nights are cooling down and the settled autumn weather is upon us, the cicadas have gone but the paperbark flowers are appearing. There are paperbarks dotted amongst the swamp oaks on my property, especially along the creek and they are now wearing a smattering of pale yellow flowers.
