ENON LIONESS AMBUSH NORTHEASTERN 1 BY A SCORE OF 34-18............
The Enon Lioness continued their amazing run through the Year 2000 schedule by exploding for 28 runs in the first two innings to ambush Northeastern 1 by a final score of 34-18. Stacie C. hit two homeruns to lead the offensive charge and the game featured pitching performances by Sarah D., Kricki K., Kelli H., Leah G., Hillary S. and starter and winner Amy K. The win improves the Enon Lioness record for the year to a stellar 9-1. Even more impressive is the fact that all nine wins have been by the “run rule” margin of 10 runs or higher.

Some of the game highlights were:
OFFENSE: Kricki K., Erin C. and Amy K. each had 4 hits and scored 4 runs. Stacie C. had 3 hits including two homeruns and Leah G. was on base 4 times and scored 4 runs.

DEFENSE: Catcher Erin C., 3rd baseman Sarah D. and Pitcher Kelli H. had the play of the day in the 5th inning when they combined to pick off a Northeastern runner from 3rd base when Erin C. gunned a bullet to Sarah D. at 3rd who then tossed a perfect strike to home plate where pitcher Kelli H. was alertly covering home and she tagged out the Northeastern runner as she tried to steal home!!
PITCHING: Amy K. throttled Northeastern over 3 innings and Hillary S. pitched one inning before a parade of pitchers (Sarah D., Kricki K., Kelli H. and Leah G.) closed out the last inning to lead the Lioness to the victory. Amy K. picked up the victory to run her record for the season to 8-0.
