GAME 2 VS POSSUM
21 May 2000

ENON LIONESS DEFEAT POSSUM BY A SCORE OF 12-0............
The Enon Lioness team played another solid game to defeat Possum by a score of 12-0 in a game that was called after 5 innings. The win improves the Lioness record for the year to 2-0. The Lioness jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one inning and slowly increased the lead by scoring at least one run every inning to pull away for the victory. Amy K. and Hillary S. combined to shut out the Possum team. Amy K. picks up the victory to improve her record for the year to 2-0. Some of the game highlights were:

OFFENSE: Kelli H. scored 3 runs and Amy K., Hillary S., and Stacie C. all scored 2 runs. Kelli H. got on base all three times and Amy K. and Shannon Y. each had two hits. Kricki K. smacked a triple to the fence and Leah G. also had a deep shot to left for a double to lead the way.
DEFENSE: Tiffany B. played a solid outfield as she twice threw runners out trying to go to second base. Kelli H. played a super game defensively at catcher and made a nice throw to nab a Possum baserunner trying to steal second. Krick K. had another flawless game at shortstop and made two nice tags on the Possum baserunners on close outs at second base. Sarah D. and Stacie C. made a couple of nice catches in the outfield to help preserve the shutout.
PITCHING: Amy K. overpowered the Possum team with 4 innings of two hit shut out ball which included 6 strikeouts. Hillary S. finished out the shutout by hurling one inning of shut out ball including two strikeouts.
