ENON LIONESS GAME SUMMARY FOR YEAR 2000

GAME 4 VS NORTHEASTERN 2
4 JUNE 2000

ENON LIONESS DEFEAT NORTHEASTERN 2 BY A SCORE OF 23-4............
The Enon Lioness team was involved in a tight struggle against the Defending County League Champion Northeastern team until they exploded for 13 runs in the 4th inning to pull away for a 23-4 victory.
The Lioness quickly jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning but then a tough Northeastern squad fought back to close the gap to 4-3 in the third inning. That's when the Enon Lioness squad unloaded for 6 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning and then they put Northeastern away with the 13 run explosion in the 4th inning to seal the victory. The game featured a matchup of Freshman Varsity pitchers Amy Karbasi of Greenon High School and Jenny Wasserman of Northeastern. Amy Karbasi picked up the victory to run her record to 3-0 for the year and Wasserman pitched the whole game for Northeastern and suffered the loss. Kelli Hall pitched the last inning to close out the victory.
Leading the Enon Lioness team on offense were Kelli Hall who contributed 4 hits and scored 4 runs, and Kricki Karbasi, Erin Carver, and Amy Karbasi who each contributed 4 hits and scored 3 runs. Hillary Skrabacz and Leah Garmen also had 3 hits for the Lioness. Stacie Crabtree made the defensive play of the game when she robbed the Northeastern team of a sure extra base hit by making a sprinting, backhanded grab of a shot to left center field. The win improves the Enon Lioness record for the year to 3-1.
