ENON LIONESS DEFEAT REID 2 BY A SCORE OF 22-5............
In the 2nd game of a rare home/away doubleheader on Fathers Day the Enon Lioness team played Reid 2 on the road and defeated them by a score of 22-5. The Lioness scored early by getting 6 runs in the 1st inning when Erin C. crushed a bases loaded, two out double to clear the bases and start the onslaught. The Lioness then exploded for 11 runs in the 4th inning to put away the Reid 2 team. The Lioness played a superb defensive game but the play of the day was made by Shannon Y. when she somehow managed to make a sprinting grab of a popup in foul territory by the 1st base fence and amazingly avoided a collision with the fence to hang on to the ball. Amy K. hurled 4 strong innings to improve her record for the season to 5-0 and Hillary S. polished off the Reid team in the last inning to close out the victory. The win improves the Lioness record for the season to 6-1.

Some of the game highlights were:
OFFENSE: Amy K. scored 4 runs and Sarah D. and Leah G. scored 3 runs to lead the way. Kelli H. was on base 5 times and ripped two triples and Hillary S. contributed 3 hits and a walk including a triple. Leah G. also had 3 hits for the Lioness, and Shannon Y. and Sarah D. were on base all 3 times via walks.
DEFENSE: The Lioness without a doubt played their best defensive game of the year. Shannon Y. made the aforementioned grab of a popup and the infield, led by Amy K. and Kricki K. snared several hard shots by Reid to lead the way. Kelli H. and Erin C. played a solid catcher for the Lioness.
PITCHING: Amy K. again picked up the victory by as she held Reid to 1 earned run over 4 innings. Amy's record for the year improves to 5-0. Hillary S. mowed down Reid to finish out the game for the Lioness.
