John Cutting, Captain and Mister of
Charlestown and Newbury,
"Shipmaster", married Mary Coffin.
In his "History of Newbury", he states
that he was from London.
He made several voyages to England
and brought many passengers to this
country; removed from Charlestown
to Newbury about 1642, but Wyman
states that he bought land in
Charlestown in 1648. He was one of the
eight commissioners, all entitled to
the prefix "Mr.", who were
appointed by the town of Newbury
in 1642 for removing from Parker River
to Merrimac River and previous to
1645 he received a grant from the town
of Newbury of a farm of 200 acres.

He died Nov. 20, 1659 at Newbury.
His will was dated Oct. 22, 1659 and
probated Mar 27, 1660. Widow Mary
married Mr. John Miller. She died Mar
6, 1663/4 at Newbury. The will
is dated Nov. 26, 1663-probated
Mar 29, 1664; She was called a
widow then.

Their first child was a son-John-born
probably before 1620, married before
1641, He had a daughter, Mary, born
before 1642. She was married at
Newbury, Nov. 30, 1657 to Samuel
Moody of Newbury. She was
married 2nd- June 24, 1679
to Daniel Lunt. She named her son,
Cutting Moody.

second child was Judith. She married
James Brown about 1637. She died
about 1650 and her husband
married her sister Sarah.

Third child was Mary. She married in
1640 to Nicholas Noyes. They named
a son Cutting.

The fourth child, Sarah, was born
about 1629. She married William
Healy, Senator of Cambridge.
Perhaps 3rd - Dec. 3, 1685 she
married Hugh March, Senator of
Newbury. Mr. Brown's daughter,
Sarah, married William Healy Jr.
