| # A VERY BRIEF C.V. # My name is Constantine,but I use the short Costas for DX purposes. I was born , raised and permanently live in ATHENA, the capital city of HELLAS.I am an electronic engineer. I got my radioamateur license in 1986 .Since then I am continuously active in various aspects of amateur radio, having given emphasis on DXing.I am a member of RAAG (The National Association), ADXC (Acropolis DX Club), ARRL ,DXCC and former member of RSGB. I love DXing and QSLing. UsualIy I work on 80-40-30-20-17-15-12-10-6-2 and 0.7 meter bands. The modes I prefer are PHONE (SSB,FM),CW,RTTY,SSTV. I have got DXCC HONOR ROLL(Phone-Mixed) CQDX ,WAZ ,WAS awards among others |

| HISTORY Acropolis of Athens was both a fortress and a sanctuary (Parthenon)F: mainly for the worship of the goddess protecting the city,the goddess of wisdom , goddess Athena ,after whom the city was named. The marmoreal monuments lying here today, were built in the 5th century B.C. to celebrate the rise of the city-state of Athens to the zenith of its power. Famous sculptors and architects, like Phidias, Mnesicles,Iktinos, have created monuments that would reverberate the glory of our city ATHENA ,down the centuries. F: PARTHENON(parthenos means virgin)= Temple for the worship of the virgin goddess Athena. THE CLUB The ACROPOLIS DX CLUB ( A D X C ) was formed in Athens by a group of DX enthusiasts in 1999. Since then, excellent Greek DXers, not only Athenians, have become members of the club. The club is active in various aspects of amateur radio and has given special emphasis on DXing activities. Our goals, our activities and each one of our members, will be mentioned in detail, in the new under construction web page of the club. |
