Well this is my first "blog" attempt,  I hope to keep a record of life so i can remember what I did !! I am winding down my first season as the harbor-master of Houghton Co. Marina. To some this is a dream job, 6 months of work 6 months of play as it is full-time seasonal work. I won't be going to Florida for the winter this year but hope to get the boat down there for next winter and do the Keys & Bahamas. I will do some more recording over the winter for thoes of you who enjoyed my first CD (Tiller Dreams), it is still available at www.cdbaby.com/scottperkins . I hope to be playing by november somewhere, been practicing alot and am getting more songs and good sounds out of my system. I have been writing new songs and putting them down in my computer,  I need to get another preamp before I do the final recording of the songs as I want the best sound I can get. I do miss heading south to florida at this time as the colors are fantastic in Kentucky this time of year and the temps are alot warmer than it is here, winter is coming, I feel it in my bones !!!! I have been doing alot more walking, going home up bridge hill is brutal but is takes me only 28 minutes to get home.

  It is soooo slow here I just have to keep pinching myself to stay awake. I haven't sold any gas or diesel yet today, only a few boats left in the water here now. I have to start closing this place up, been putting hoses away, digging up the flower beds and turning the soil over is all done just have to drain the water lines and put away the picnic tables.

   The colors are really nice now, still have leaves on the trees. Sure wish I could get out for a CC tour but to get the time off is impossible. I hope to go to the boat saturday and take some stuff off and drain the water, tarp the hatch and just make sure it is ready for the winter.
