9-9-08
Summer has come and gone along with Band Camp. It was a very productive year for Spring Valley. WIthout doing a halftime show this year, it allowed the band to focus more time on the competition show. The entire show has been learned and so far the first 2 songs have been performed in public. The closer will debut this week as the band travels to Linside, WV to compete at the James Monroe festival. Huntington and Cabell Midland will also be competing in class. Spring Valley, Huntington, and Cabell Midland will see each other practically every week this year which should make for a very exciting and competitive year. Once, I receive the times for Saturday I will post those on here and we can have our schedule set and ready to go. The SVDL and staff would like to wish all of the competing bands the best of luck this coming saturday!!! T.L.O.P.

7-5-08
The drum line has finished learning the entire book and now it's on to memorization. We will resume practice after next week and we will begin tracking the opener. Band Camp is right around the corner and we need to settle in and be ready to kick it up! We are setting ourselves up for a very productive year...so keep it up!!! We wish everyone the best of luck throughout their camps and we can't wait to get the marching season started. T.L.O.P.

5-13-08
Long time, no update. I appologize. The drumline has been working very hard thus far in the new season. All of the warm-ups and the cadence have been learned and starting this week, it's show music time. The drumline is very young this year. But, with a great attitude going for them, they are off to a strong start. We will be marching 5 snares, 2 tenors, 5 basses, and 6-10 in the front ensemble. We hope everyone is having a productive off season and we wish everyone the best of lucj in the upcoming season. T.L.O.P.

1-11-08
Let's start off by saying Happy New Year! And the SVDL is very happy!!! We had a great turn out for clinic and with the help of some transfers and new additions, we chose a much larger line up than intended. We will be marching 6 Snares, 3 Tenors, 5 Basses, and at least 8 in the Front Ensemble. We are very pleased with what we have this year and the show has been selected and is sure to be a crowd pleaser...much different from SVHS. So, be ready for that! We also have a totally revamped staff.
Caption Head/Bass Tech Chad Fink
Snare Tech Chris Spaulding
Tenor Tech Matt Patrick

George, Drew, Brandon, and Chris will also be making appearences throughout the year...So, the staff will be fully loaded! T.L.O.P.

12-17-07
The 2007 drumline has been added to the alumni page and the dates for the clinic have been set. George and Chad will assist in the assignment of drums for the upcoming season. George still intends to write the book for the drumline and will assist at times with making sure the new staff has everything under control. Other than the snare line, there will be a lot of vets in the upcoming drumline. So you all need to push for a strong start and finish! BE AT PRACTICE!!!! We are looking to take 4 snares, 4-5 basses, 2-3 tenors, and whatever we can get in the pit! :-) T.L.O.P.

11-4-07
The football team won this past friday at Woodrow Wilson 38-35. They finished the season 4-6, so it looks like they are turning the program around for the future. The band competed at Marshall and took 4th place over-all, color guard placed 3rd over-all, and the drumline took 5th over-all. Congrats to Cabell Midland on High Drums and Hurricane on Grand Champion! This year's drumline definately had it's ups and downs but they managed to achieve the NEW HIGH AVERAGE SCORE for a season. That mark is now 9.16!!! So I feel very good about that as should the students! This has been said by many to be the best drumline to ever come out of Spring Valley. The record may not show that, but the score and talent definately does! Every judge commented on the difficulty we had in our book, but we just had a lot of execution errors! We will miss our 3 seniors next year, but we hope to gear up for another successful year. Marshall was also George's last show teaching the drumline. "I'd personally like to thank every member who has been through my program and showed the will and desire to move this program and this activity in the right direction. It has been a heck of a trip and I love all of you!" The SVDL will always be..."The Line of Perfection"

10-27-07
The football team lost a tough one to Hurricane in the last 6 seconds 13-12 Friday night. They are now 3-6 and travel to Beckley next week. The band traveled to Herbert Hoover today and Placed 1st in all captions except Drum Major. The drum line placed 1st over-all with a score of 9.8 (2nd best in school history). They only need a 8.2 next week at Marshall to beat the all time best average score. So let's have a great week of practice and earn that new best average! It's been a great year and we only have one more week! Good Luck to everyone at Marshall! SVDL-T.L.O.P.

10-20-07
The football team lost to South Charleston 34-24 Friday night. They are now 3-5 and hope to rebound in the next two games. The band competed at Huntington High today and placed 2nd over-all. The drumline and color guard also finished in 2nd place. Congratulations to Cabell Midland on Grand Champion and High Drums. We travel to Herbert Hoover next week and we're hoping to win another High Drum trophy and looking for the 1st Grand Champion trophy in 2 years. So let's have a good week of practice. Pictures will also be uploaded later tonight. So check back for them! SVDL-T.L.O.P.

10-13-07
This week is Homecoming so the band has the weekend off for the dance. The football team won last night 49-18 against Lincoln County. They are now 3-4 so congratulations to them. Good luck to all of the competing bands this weekend! SVDL-T.L.O.P.

10-7-07
The football team bounced back with a huge win over Huntington this week (49-7). Their record is now 2-4 and we have Homecoming against Lincoln County this week. The band has the weekend off this week because of the dance. So, hopefully everyone has a good time and is prepared for the following week at Huntington High. The Band placed 3rd this week and the drumline placed 1st in Class A and Over-All with a score of 9.6. Congratulations to everyone! SVDL-T.L.O.P.

10-3-07
The football team is on a bit of a losing streak. Their record is now 1-4 and we play at Huntington High this week. This past week was the Cabell Midland Competition and the band placed 4th and the drumline placed 2nd in class and over-all. Congratulations to Hurricane on Grand Champion and 1st place drums. It was a rough show but, we're fixing the problems this week. We compete at Williamstown and it looks to be a great chance for us to show our talent off. SVDL-T.L.O.P.

9-16-07
The football team lost 49-21 last night against Nitro; bringing their record to 1-2. This week we play at Cabell Midland on Friday and we host the Spring Valley Band Contest on Saturday. 12 bands are signed up so far, so it should be an exciting day of competition. Good luck to all competing bands! Next week we have a home game and we have our first competitive contest at Cabell Midland. So we need 2 really strong weeks of practice! SVDL-T.L.O.P.

9-8-07
The football team won 23-6 last night against Greenbrier East; bringing their record to 1-1. The band improved on a lot of things this week and it really showed. Only a few more weeks until the competition season begins! Good luck to everyone this season!!! SVDL-T.L.O.P.

9-1-07
Well, we had our first performance of the show last night. All things went pretty well, considering it was the first performance of the show with out dots and in front of a crowd. Still a lot of bugs to work out. The football team lost 27-3, but showed much improvement on defense. Next week we're at home against Greenbrier East! 3 weeks until we host our competition and 4 weeks until we compete! Good luck to everyone this season!!! SVDL-T.L.O.P.

8-13-07
Just a few more days left of camp!!! The football schedule and competition schedule have both been updated. The member page is also up to date. So far things have been going great for the band and drumline and tomorrow, we will finish the show and begin half-time and pre-game. Meet the Timberwolves is next Monday at 7:00pm. Come See Us!!! Good luck to everyone this season!!! SVDL-T.L.O.P.

8-1-07
Band camp is underway and things are really shaping up. Drill is going much better than expected and the drumline is playing great. All of the music is learned and the line is really buying into the program this year. Our front ensemble numbers are down, but the kids are really playing well and have a great attitude. The band is also sounding good for this time of year. Hopefully things keep up and everyone will be in for a great show this year. Best of luck to everyone this season! SVDL-T.L.O.P.

3-30-07
All of the Warm-Ups are now learned and the technique and chop building portion of the spring are coming along nicely. We have began to work on the cadence and are progressing very quickly through it. This year's cadence was written by George and Brandon and is titled "Senus Motus". Once we have the cadence learned we will begin working on the opener, which should lead us into band camp. We have a Saturday practice coming up on April 21st. So keep that date open. We are still have a few attendence issues from the line, but with baseball season and sickness we understand. So far, this year's line is really looking to be one to watch out for. A few people have already came and watched and taken notice. So be ready! SVDL-T.L.O.P.

2-5-07
The SVDL is proud to announce that George Chaffin is now a ProMark Educator Endorser. This is also a good acquisition for the drumline as they will also receive some of the benefits. Spring Valley is the first HS drumline in the state of West Virginia to be endorsed. Practices have also been going very well. Two of the exercises are already learned and we will begin on the third next week. We hope to have all of the warm-ups learned by the end of this month and begin work on the cadence in March. We will either be having a Saturday Practice or a All Nighter on February 24th. SVDL-T.L.O.P.

1-17-07
Try-Outs are done and the percussion section has been assembled. Take a look at the member page to see the 2007 SVDL. We are currently working through the warm-ups and around March, we should begin working on the cadence. The drumline this year has a lot of experience and we're hoping that it pays off. This year's captains are Jarod Leffingwell and David Maynard. We look to them as leader's and role model's. SVDL-T.L.O.P.

12-15-06
The 2007 Show has been announced. The Planets We will be playing "Mars", "Venus", "Mercury", and "Jupiter" within the show. Half of the show, the cadence, and all warm-ups have already been written. We have been working through the clinic this past week and we will conclude next week. So far we have seen a great turn-out and with some staff changes, this year is shaping up nicely. We look to be marching 7 snares, 4 tenors, 5 basses, and 12+ in the front ensemble. We will be holding audtions in January for 1 week and all drums and front ensemble positions will be set. Practice will then begin the following week; every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5:30pm. Be ready for next year, it's approaching fast...so are we! SVDL-The Line of Perfection!!!

10-29-06
The football season and the marching band season both came to a close this weekend. The football team lost 47-21 against Princeton, ending the season with a 3-7 record. An improvement from last season. The band travled out of state and comepeted at Colerain HS against some VERY good bands. The band did not place in class, but did finish 10th over-all. Some very bad tears occured, but hey, it happens. Then on Sunday the band had a free day at Kings Island. The record may not show it, but this is by far one of the better drumlines to come out of Spring Valley. This was also Drew Smith's last season working with the drumline. Drew, it has been a pleasure these past few years and hopefully we'll see ya at some shows next year! We will now have a month off to rest and regroup and then we will have a 1 week clinic before we take christmas break. Try-outs will take place the first week back to school in January and then practices will begin! Thanks to everyone for a great season and I'm sure the Seniors are proud! SVDL-The Line Of Perfection.

10-22-06
The football team lost 12-10 in a tight game this Friday against South Charleston dropping their record to 3-6. The band competed at the Marshall Competition this Saturday and placed 4th due to an abnormaly low G.E. score. The drumline placed 3rd with a score of 91 while Hurricane won high drums with a score of 92.5. Some Front Ensemble issues need to be resolved this week as we head to Colerain to finish the season. 34 bands will be in competition and on Sunday the band will be at Kings Island for some fun! Let's have a good week and see how we fair against some of the nation's best bands and drumlines! It's been a great year so let's finish strong! T.L.O.P.

10-15-06
The Football team won this Friday 49-20 on Senior Night against Woodrow Wilson improving their record to 3-5. The band traveled to Spencer, WV for the Black Walnut Festival and comepeted in a parade and field show. They did not place in the parade show but was 1st Runner-Up to Grand Champion behind George Washington in the field show and also 1st Runner-Up Honor Band. The drumline placed 2nd in Open Class and Over-All behind Cabell Midland with a score of 90.
This week is the Marshall Competition and 25 bands are in competition. We're in a great spot going next to last, so let's pull off a first place victory this weekend. Good Luck to everyone! T.L.O.P.

10-8-06
The Football team lost this Friday 45-7 against Cabell Midland dropping their record to 2-5. The band had their first competition of the season at Laidley Field and placed 1st runner-up behind Capitol. The drumline won 1st place in Class A and over-all with a score of 90. Monday we have the fire prevention parade and Saturday we travel to Spencer, WV for the Black Walnut Festival. 23 bands will be in competition along with a parade before hand. LONG DAY!!!
New pictures and videos have been posted in the Picture Section! T.L.O.P.

10-5-06
The football game this week is away against Cabell Midland and this week is also the first competition for the 2006 season for the SVDL, taking place at Laidley Field. We are meeting at SVHS at 2:00, then practicing with the band at 4:00. We perform last in class at 9:00.
New pictures and 2 videos from band camp have also been uploaded to the site. SO check them out.
Good luck to everyone Saturday! T.L.O.P.

9-24-06
Conratulations to all the bands on Saturday at the Spring Valley Band Competition. There are some really good drumlines this year. Congratulations to Cabell Midland who won Grand Champion and High Drums on Saturday. It was a standstill performance due to the muddy field conditions, but it was still a great turn out. The football team won Friday 10-7 which improves their record to 2-3. We have Homecoming this week and next week we are competing at Hurricane. Let's have two solid weeks of practice! T.L.O.P.

9-3-06
The past week of practice has been great. Having 5 bass drums all week makes a big difference. The football game was delayed until Saturday and well, after a half-time score of 0-0, the second half was much different. We ended up losing the game 39-6, which puts our record at 1-1. We will not be traveling to the game at Greenbrier East this Friday though.
PARADE ON MONDAY!! This week's focus is the Third Movement. So let's put a lot of hard work into making it perfect. T.L.O.P.

8-26-06
Drumline Hoodie money needs to be in by Tuesday or the price will go up. The hoodies are currently $26.00.
This week was the first performance for the SVDL for the 2006 Season. Meet the Timberwolves took place on Thursday and the first football game of the year was Friday. Meet the T'wolves had a good crowd turn out and a good first showing from the drumline. The game against the newly consolidated Lincoln County High was also a great success. The team won 28-0...A good start as opposed to last year's 0-10 record. The 3rd bass was at the beach all weak so the basses had a rough weak but played reasonably well considering the circumstances. For the next 3 weeks the basses will be staying until 6:00pm on Tuesdays. This week's game is at home against Nitro. We still have a long time until the competition season begins so let's make it perfect. T.L.O.P.

8-22-06
Welcome to the new home of the Spring Valley High School Drumline. It's been a long time since an update and countless hours into inproving the site. I still need to fix the link tabs. However, they do link you to the pages...Just no pic to come up for the links. Hopefully in the next few days I get that glitch worked out. Also, there is no longer a guestbook...No one really signed it anyway. Feel free to contact me if you have any other ideas for the page.
So, yeah, I suppose everyone wants an update on the drumline. Things have been going great and this is the best drumline to come out of Spring Valley thus far. We still have some trouble areas, but I think this will be a good year. Good Luck to all of our competitors this season! T.L.O.P.

3-15-06
Drumline practices have been going great so far. We could have a better attendance record from the bassline though! The pit just started practice on Tuesday and we had a great turn out. It looks like we will have 15 battery and 12 pit, giving us a total of 27 percussionists for the 2006 marching season. The battery has learned all of the warm-ups and the onfield and will begin work on the cadence in the upcoming weeks. The freshman have a great attitude and amazing skill. This looks to be one of the best years yet for the SVDL and hopefully that trend stays! T.L.O.P.

2-5-06
Long awaited update has finally arrived. The drumline has been set. 6 Snares, 4 Tenors, and 5 Basses will make up the battery. The pit will be set in March when they begin practice. Schedule has also been updated! All of the warm-ups, minus Rolls, have been learned, along with half of the on-field. We hope to start on the Cadence in March and show music in April. Practices have been going great and with all of the vets in the drumline this year, it looks to be a GREAT year! The rookies are also pulling their weight too! New Carriers and Stadium Hardware also have been ordered. Look for new pictures in the upcoming days as well! That's about it for now. Spring Valley Drumline: The Line of Perfection!

11-20-05
DRUMLINE AUDITIONS WILL BEGIN DECEMBER 5TH!!! Expected numbers: 6 Snares, 4 Tenors, 5 Basses, 10 Front Ensemble.
Everyone is expected to audition. Just because you are a vet, does not gurantee you will have your spot. Please help the new kids on each instrument. With so many vets we have a lot of potential for the upcoming year! We have to work much harder then last year though! The staff has already began working on the opener and the parts are much more challenging! So be ready and come prepared to learn and work!

10-30-05
The Competition Season has come to a close! The Band got 3rd Place Over-All and the Drumline got 2nd Over-All. The colorguard once again missed out on that undfeated season, finishing in 2nd place. Congrats on another great season girls! We have a little over a month until we begin the audition process for the 2006 drumline. We are looking to have 6 Snares, 4 Tenors, 5 Basses, and 12+ in the pit. This was a great season with much progression. Just think of the possibilities for next season! Seniors, we will miss you when you graduate and you have meant so much to the drumline and the band. Thanks for the great memories! SVDL '05!

10-23-05
A tragedy has fallen upon the SVDL and the SVHS Marching Band today. Our beloved Michael Kiser "Burnout" and his father Mel were killed in a car accident on I-64. Michael was a sophomore and a Cymbal player in the band. His brother Greg, sister Courtney, and her fiancé Bobby are in the hospital and look to be in stable condition. More information will be talked about in band on Monday. Please have your prayers with the Kiser family. We will miss you Burnout!
The band won yet another Grand Championship this past weekend at the Lincoln County Fall Festival. The drumline also won 1st place in class and over-all with a score of 95. The highest of the season. We have a lot of things we need to work on this week in preparation for the Marshall Competition. 3 more practices and 1 more show. Let's make it the best yet! Congratulations to all of the other competing bands Saturday!

10-16-05
Congratulations to the drumline for getting their first 1st place trophy of the year. The judge did not judge the show over-all but by group so we don't really know how we compared. He had a lot of good comments and a lot of things that we talked about in critique will be addressed this week in practice. 6 more practices to go and it's all over so don't let up! Congratulations to Hurricane on winning High Drums in Group 2.

10-13-05
NEW PICS added to the picture page. A video will be uploaded soon.

10-8-05
It was another heart breaking loss for the drumline as they once again placed 2nd in class and over-all. The band won Grand Champion again over Capital by 2.5 points.

10-6-05
NEW PICTURES ADDED IN THE PICTURES PAGE! JUST CLICK ON 2005. Kind of blurry, but hey, at least we have new pictures!!!

10-2-05
The first Competition of the 2005 Season is in the books! The Band won GRAND CHAMPION at the Hurricane Competition this past Saturday with a good performance. The drumline placed 2nd in Class and Over-All. It was a good performance considering the 2nd Bass had to miss the performance for other obligations. Congratulations to Cabell Midland on winning 1st Place drums in class and Over-All. This week we have the Wayne Competiton and we'll have a full drumline so let's go out and start racking up the first places! Plan on staying 'til 6:30 again this week! We need hard work to get the score we want! Good Luck to everyone at the Wayne Competition.

9-24-05

SHOW ANNOUNCED!!!
Sorry for the long delay in updates. Practices have been going AWESOME recently. This by far has been the best drumline to roll out of Spring Valley in quite some time. The book is sounding amazing and the dynamic demand is very high. I, as well as the rest of the staff, are really getting excited to see how far this line can push the bar. I will be leaving May 22nd and I'm already pumped to come home and see how good the line is! We have 2 Saturdays off and then we will have 2 Saturday practices in a row! SO GET READY!

3-8-05
Practice was great Saturday. We got through the entire cadence and now we just need to clean it. We will probably begin work on the opener in 2 weeks. SO GET READY FOR SOME NOTES! When we beging learning music, be prepared to learn fast!
MARSHALL UNIVERSITY DAY OF PERCUSSION APRIL 2ND 10:00AM. FEATURING MATT SAVAGE AND GIFFORD HOWARTH! IT IS A GREAT OPPURTUNITY TO LEARN FROM GREAT CLINICIANS! COST IS ONLY $10.00! PLEASE TRY TO BE THERE AND REPRESENT SV!
That being said....SHOW UP!
Practices have been going great so far for the 2005 SVDL. All of the Warm-Ups have now been learned and we're getting ready to start on the Cadence. This year's cadence was written by Brandon, George, and Drew. Some samples have been taken from various cadences, but for the most part, this year's cadence is original. The First song and Ballad have also been written and most of the closer is also done. So far attitudes have been great for practices, but attendence by some members has been less then stellar. If you are going to miss practice, for ANY reason, TELL SOMEONE. It is okay to miss practice, as long as we know why you will not be there.
SATURDAY PRACTICE-MARCH 5th-12:00-6:00.

1-17-05
Uh Oh! What's This? It's an Update!!! Sorry for taking so long on updating the page. I have been busy with Drum Corps, Teaching SV, and going to school. The 2005 Battery is now officially set. We may add another Cymbal player though. Practices have been going well and the younger kids are doing great! The staff is excited about the drumline and their new attitude. The 2005 Show has been picked but we will not release the name until the Director says we can. But it is much different from what SV has ever played and is sure to be a great surprise for everyone. The drumline had the Governor's Inauguration Parade today in Charleston and sounded great, despite the Extremely Cold Temperature.
This week the drumline will finish learning the Double Beat and will Review 8s and 4-2-1.
Snares you will practice on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Everyone else, your practice schedule remains the same. Keep practicing, not to play it right, but to never play it wrong!

12-3-04
Today ended our first week of the upcoming season. The snare line had a week of tryouts and 11 students participated. 6 Snares were chosen and we congratulate all of them. Next week will be Tenor auditions and Bass auditions are the following week. This season looks to be a bit different then those in the past. We have a lot of young faces which make for a very bright future. We will begin rehearsals after christmas break. Good Luck to those trying out for tenor or bass.

11-8-04
The Competition Season wrapped up this past Saturday at the Marshall University Tri-State Marching Festival. The Drumline placed 2nd in Class and 3rd Over-All. Congratulation to Cabell-Midland on 1st in class and Over-All. Also, Congratulations to Nitro on 2nd Over-All. The Band Placed 4th Over-All and 3rd in Class. The performance was by far the best of the season for the drumline. The drumline also racked up it's 2nd best record in existence. 5-2.The staff couldn't have asked for a better group to work with this season. You made us very proud and came a long way from the camps. A lot of Seniors will be missed next year and a lot of the younger kids have to take a step up. The 2005 Packet will be passed out sometime this week and camps will begin after Thanksgiving.

The band just returned from the James Madison competition where they did pretty well over-all. The band placed 12th out of 40 bands that competed. The drumline was judged within the Music-Indiviual caption. They earned a score of 70 (3rd Over-All) with a pretty tough judge and with a rough show. This week the band will be traveling to Nicholas County for the Governor's Cup. We will competed in Preliminary and Finals competition.

This weekend wrapped up the 2nd week of competition. The drumline got 2nd at Nitro, where the band won GRAND CHAMPION, and 1st at Hurricane, where the band placed 2nd. Congratulations to Cabell-Midland on winning 1st place at Nitro and Grand Champion at Hurricane. It was a good weekend in which we received some great comments from both judges. The show at Nitro wasn't one of our usual performances but at Hurricane a lot cleaned up. Next week is our off week due to Homecoming and the following weekend we will make our way to JMU to compete against 40 bands.

Well, the first competition is in the books. The drumline took 1st place in class and 2nd place over-all. Congratulations to Hurricane on 1st place over-all. It was a good show but their are still some stuff we really need to clean. We have 2 show's this next weekend (Hurricane and Nitro). Let's try to pull two 1st places off next weekend. Good luck to everyone next week!

It's been forever since I've updated the page so I will start off by appologizing for that. Drew, Brandon, and I had a great DCI Tour and met up a lot throughout the summer. Capital Regiment took 14th Place and Southwind took 18th Place in Division I. Marion Glory Cadets took 8th in Division III. Southwind's Bass Ensemble took 2nd Place in I&E. Congrats to everyone. Also, congratulation to all of the other area DCI marchers this year! The drumline has finished band camp and have given their first performance of the year. The show is going fairly well. The closer still needs a lot of cleaning but I think this should be another good year for the drumline. I have heard good things about the other lines around the area too and it sounds like it should be a very competitive year. The drumline will be at Boyd Co. for a football game this upcoming Friday and that will be their first performance for non-SV people. I will try to get an up to date schedule up ASAP and hopefully I can take a lot of pictures this year. Maybe even a few soundclips?? Hopefully I can take care of all of that this year. I will try to stay up to date on the page from here on out. Best of luck to all of our competitors this season and we'll see you on the field!

Well, we had another good practice on Saturday. The Cadence is almost complete and should be by the end of practice this Tuesday. We also got to take a glance at the opener. The drumline is working at a great pace right now and so much is being accomplished. Thanks to everyone for the hard work. The Disney Trip is next week so I hope everyone has a good time with that. When practice resumes we will work on the opener and hopefully by the end of Saturday's practice it will be at least half way done. So our goal for the month of April is to have the Cadence clean and the opener finished. So, let's have a good month and get the parts down! PRACTICE on Saturday April, 17th! 12:00pm-6:00pm

3-3-04
Saturday's practice was a great success. Everyone was present and all of the warm-ups are officially learned. We also got a great start on the Cadence. We are now about 15 measures in and hopefully by next camp we will have the cadence learned and we can get started on the opener. The technique is already a great improvement from last year and the attitude is the best I've seen from the SVDL. If we keep up the pace, this can and will be a GREAT year. Everyone needs to keep practicing and focusing on the minor details the staff instructs you on. VISIT THE GUESTBOOK!! It's lonely! PRACTICE on Saturday March, 27th! 12:00pm-6:00pm

Now that the line is set we need to start purchasing sticks and such. Your FIRST PAIR IS FREE, but the rest you will have to pay for on your own. Snares, you will need to purchase your dreadlocks on your own. If you would like to give me the money and have me order them that is fine too. Tenors, you will also have to purchase your puffies on your own. If you want me ot purchase them I can, but give me money! Basses, same goes for you. Drew and I will go over sticks and everything in practice. Practices have been going well so far so let's keep it up! Also, we welcome Jon Janutolo to the staff. He will be working with our Front Ensemble! PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!PRACTICE on Saturday February, 28th! 1:00pm-6:00pm

The line was set today and things look well. We have also learned the Double Beat now. We only have Triplet Diddle left and then it's time for the cadence. Two of the songs have been written and the show is pretty sweet thus far! The staff is really getting along well this year and the ideas are just flowing! I hope everyone is excited as the staff is!

PRACTICE on Saturday February, 28th! 1:00pm-6:00pm

The line is almost set and things are shaping up pretty well. The drumline has learned 8s and Bucks so far and have worked on a lot of different ruidments. This year's drumline will focus more on technique and ruimental drumming. The line is very young, but not weak! The attitude is great and everyone is very eager to learn. The staff is pleased and we hope to see the hard work and dedication continue. This week we really need to focus on the two warm-ups and also start on the double-beat exercise. MEMORIZE YOUR MUSIC and come prepared!
Congratulations to Drew on once again making Capital Regiment's Snareline, George on making Bass 3 at Southwind, and Brandon for making Snare at Marion Glory Cadets!

12-9-03
At the beginning of next week next year's line up should be up on the page so be looking for that. We've had two practices thus far and things seem to be shaping up nicely. Hopefully we will continue our progress and we'll have an awesome 2004 Season! Next Year's Staff has been posted so take a look!

I am in the process of redoing the webpage so it's a bit messy. Just hang in there. It will be up and looking good soon enough. Drumline Practice begins next week on December 2nd. 3:30pm-5:30pm. We will talk about the upcoming season and go over technique and find out who is trying out for each drum. I hope everyone has a GREAT THANKSGIVING!
