The crane moves into position to remove the mast. |
View of the mast from deck level. It's the last time I'll have to see the radar cable hanging down unsecured! The radar came with Synergy, but was never installed properly. (it can bee seen just beneath the radar, in front of the mast) |
Here's an attempt to show the discolored, dingy, old and obscure spreader lights. |
Here's our baby without her stick. The term Bare Naked Lady comes to mind. |
A close-up shot of the spreader sans light. |
Here's the top of the mast, or what a bird might see as it approached Synergy for his daily bombing! |
Here's a shot of the mast with the new spreader lights in place. The install was quick and easy using a borrowed, heavy-duty rivet gun. |
Here's a close-up of the port spreader light. |
View of the masthead showing a temporarily-placed stanchion base which I used to build the base for the new tri-color/anchor light. |
Close-up of the stanchion base with masthead wiring pulled through it. |
This is the block of teak which I used for the masthead light assembly base. It was painted with epoxy-based paint to protect the wood from UV damage and weather. |
View of the new Aqua Signal Series 40 Anchor/Tri-Color combo light now serving on Synergy. |
Here's a close-up of the finished light assembly base. |
I'm hoping the new light will be more of a deterrent to birds, but I'm not holding my breath! |
Here's a shot of Synergy sporting her new Sea Green bootstripe. |
Close-up view of the bootstripe. |
