Haul-out 2003

May 6, 2003 - June 14, 2003

Bojean Boatyard, Miami, FL

Synergy is returned to the place where she feels most comfortable...the water.

Aft view of the port side where the outboard is stored when not in use.  Note:  The spaghetti of rope on the tiller was tossed onboard just before the picture was taken.

This is a "BEFORE" shot of the boomkin taken on March 29, 2003.

This is Synergy after the haul-out and replacement of the boomkin.  The new spars were made from a 16ft x 10" x 1-1/2" plank of clear fir with perfectly vertical grain running the length of the board.  The thickness required (2-1/4") necessitated laminating two pieces together.  We feel this created additional strength.

Close-up view of the swiveling cam cleat we installed to replace the original, ineffective clam cleat.

Another view of the new boomkin and its four blocks.

Lastly, here is Synergy's cabin back from the brink.
