Another Great Year for Our Family

We have a brand new grandson, born on June 3rd. Liam was born 10 weeks early, so he spent his first 8 weeks or so in the neo-natal intensive care unit (NNICU) at Georgetown Hospital in DC. Needless to say, all of the wonderful staff at the NNICU are our heroes! Liam is doing great and so is Dee and the rest of the family.

Crissy and Brendan also have news: their first baby (a girl we think) is due in March. Watch for their news right here on this site. As you can imagine, these little darlings are taking a toll on our cruising itinerary. Oh well.... everyone should be this lucky!

And, by the way, Maura is in Albequerque in massage school. We're all looking forward to helping her do her homework!

Dee in her chair at the hospital, looking at little Liam. We are all very thankful that he came through it and is just fine now.

As you can see, he started his journey in this world as a very frail, very small baby. With the help of his family and the staff at the NNICU, he is catching up fast.

We were so anxious to get him home.....

Finally at home! It was Papa's first real chance to hold Liam and he was lovin' the attention.

Of course, Aunty Chrissie has come to visit again. She's getting some practice for next March when she'll have her own wee one.

Liam is a little more than 2 months old here, looking more like a new born babe now.

We were with the kids until mid-October. It gave us a great chance to watch them both grow. Liam got lots and lots of Nanna time and some Papa time too. Nora, of course, was always on the scene, getting her share.

He liked to visit Papa's room where his sister was usually close by.

Yes, he can cry too. Generally though, he's really a sweet, quiet, happy baby.

Speaking of his sister.....Nora is a delight!

She's working on learning to play the harmonica
and anything else that makes music.

And did I say that she loves the camera? And isn't she photogenic (read 'too cute')?

Just before we left in October, Nora got dressed up
to go to the zoo, one of her favorite places this year.

Papa's hat...

Making (and eating) bread with Papa....

Nora's birthday cake...and baby brother asleep again!

Brendan and Chrissie brought Nora a fairy tutu and wings...

...but the cake won the day.

Uncle Brendan poses with posies.

And of course, Mina gets in the picture too. In fact, with all of the
attention from aunts and uncles and grandparents, Nora hardly
noticed that she had to share her parents with the new baby.

In the pool with Papa....another favorite thing! Or is Papa the favorite thing??

Gotta have shoes on to go to the fish market.

A chat in the park with Nanna...

and a merry-go-round with Papa...
