Wand'rin Star Interior Photos This page provides an overview of the interior of S/V Wand'rin Star beginning in the pilothouse, one of her distinguishing features. The galley is to port as one enters with a large settee to starboard. Included in the galley are refrigerator, freezer, gimbaled stove with oven, double sink and storage. Some HC pilothouses that we've seen have the galley below, but on Wand’rin Star the crew eats much better with it in the pilothouse as the cook can be part of the action, both underway and at anchor. The settee seats six comfortably and also doubles as a berth when making passages. The Nav Station is forward of the galley on port and is very user-friendly. It is equipped with radar, GPS, autopilot, VHF, SSB radio, Nexus instruments, laptop computer, and three music sources (iPod, Sirius Radio, and CD/AM/FM radio.)
Several steps down from the pilothouse and forward is the Lower Saloon, a very cozy spot in the evenings. There are large settees - both port & starboard - which comfortably seat eight; as well as a table, bookshelves and storage. The television is located on the aft bulkhead and there are speakers for the sound system.
The door forward leads to a stateroom with Pullman berth, drawers, hanging locker and a full head. The head has a marble vanity and the shower is tiled with Italian tiles, both signatures of Hans Christian shipbuilding.
The most forward area is the anchor locker and additional storage space.
The aft stateroom can be entered through the head area as well as via the stairway connecting it to the pilothouse aft of the galley. The aft stateroom has a queen-size walk-around berth, settee and double hanging lockers.
