Trip to Alps #2 |
This is Schloss Neuschwanstein. This is an awesome castle to look at and to visit, but it is a little too commercialized. The hike up to the bridge is definately worth it. This is halfway betweent he bridge and the castle. Not too shabby if I say so myself (the picture that is). |
Here is Eric, one of the many friends I have made since coming to Germany. He is an mechanical engineering student at The University of Michigan, home of the wolverines. Here he is standing in front of the Wieskirche. One of Thousands of chirches that I will hopefully never see again. |
Breathtaking isn't it? Whatever you do, DO NOT look down from the bridge. It is a LONG way down and 2 minutes on it was enough for me. Next time I hope to hike even further up the mountain in order to get Hohenschwangau (another castle) a little better. You can see it just to the right of Schloss Neuschwanstein. |
This is a picture of the inside of the Wieskirche. This is a typical old German church. Lots of detail, lots of gold, and some really cool paintings. Other than that....have fun on the drive up the mountain just to reach this church. I wasn't quite sure which would give out first, my stomach or the engine on the bus. Luckily we both made it. |
