PROJECTS TITLE: Development
of database and front end for online
registration in BITS.
Description: This software has been
developed to aid the Online Registration program undertaken by the Academic
Registration and Counseling Division. This project was done during
August-December, 2000. There are
two components in the project. The first component takes the ID of a
particular student and displays the timetable of that student for the current
semester in the standard timetable format. The second
component provides interface for a student to register for the courses. As student
carries on with the registration the software checks for the clashes in the
timetable and guides him through the registration process. The
database was initially designed using raw binary files in C to facilitate
security over the network on Unix platform. Then the whole database is
transferred to oracle using Developer 2000 as front end. |

TITLE: BITS
OFFICIAL WEB-SITE DEVELOPMENT
Description: I was a active member of
Website maintenance team for more than 4 semesters at Center for Software
Development [CSD] BITS. CSD was responsible for maintaining the official
website of the institute. During this period we have created a new website
with all new look and feel and many features have been added to the site. Also a flash website is designed just to add interactivity
and liveliness to plain looking html site. BITS is the first university in
India to have a flash site. I designed the full flash website. Also made a
virtual tour of the bits campus using flash.
TITLE: ENGINEERING WEBSITE of
TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER PORTAL (TTP).
Description: This project was done at
Center for Software Development [CSD] of BITS, PILANI during August-December,
2001. This
projects aims at the creation for a portal through which we can provide our
services to people. Mainly to make BITS a commercial center. My job was to
develop a website which best suits the above task. This website has mail
hosting facilities chat server etc. Also a flash site is developed to add
interactivity to the site. TITLE: Implementation
of few Algorithms in Image processing for web based learning.
Description: This website has been
developed to aid the Online learning of Image processing. In this website
comprehensive material of Image processing was kept and to support
interactivity, many applets were added to the site which shows the
implementation of Image processing algorithms. Some of the algorithms are
histogram Equalization, histogram specification, pattern matching, Sub image
searching, filters like high pass and low pass, Image restoration etc. TITLE: Designing
Multimedia Tutorial on Digital Image processing.
Description: This project was done at IIRS
(Indian Institute of Remote Sensing) as part of Practice School-1 during
May-July, 2000. This project aims at developing a multimedia tutorial on
Digital Image processing. Which can be used as a teaching aid in the above
institute. This is done using Macromedia Authoware. This tutorial incorporates
images, text, video, audio etc. At the end of each chapter a small quiz was
given to the user. Which enhances the interactivity of the tutorial. It was
indeed a great experience working with scientists of the Institute. Along with the tutorial a website was also created to
have the facility of e-Learning for the employees and student of IIRS. TITLE: SIMULATION OF SCHEDULING ALGORITHMS.
Description: This project was done as
part of Structure of Programming Languages during January-March, 2002. Scheduling algorithms like FCFS, SJF, Round Robin were simulated. The program will generate random processes with different arrival times and CPU burst times. And the simulator will schedule the randomly generated processes and compares them using the metrics like average waiting time, round trip time etc. All these algorithms are developed to aid a better
understanding in the courses like Database management system and Operating
