My
Best Friend
By Swaydeer © 2003
We were like sisters, my friend and
I
We were inseparable, her and I
The awesome times we spent together
We were destined to be friends
forever
But there was darkness and despair
The Sadness at times too much to
bear
We understood each other’s pain
But never did we complain
We knew depression very well
For we had been through hell
Without a word you tried to take
your life
That sliced my heart just like a
knife
You did not die right away
You kept death at bay for many a day
Three weeks I kept the candles lit
Hoping you would live through it
Then death took you away
I wanted so much for you to stay
I crumbled to my knees and cried
Until the morning light arrived
It has been almost a year
Since you left your life here
Once again I light the candles every
night
Hoping you can see the light
You will always be in my heart
Even though we are apart
You were like a Sister to me
In loving Memory of C.F.
