Chocolate Chip Cookies
The Old Toll House Recipe
Yes, I do use my sifter!

OVEN
Preheat oven to 375°

COOK TIME
10 to 12 minutes

PAN
Grease the cookie sheets

Recipe:

Sift and set aside first ingredients above. Cream second set of ingredients above. Beat egg sugar-butter mixture. Then add flour mixture, then chips.

Drop onto greased cookie sheet by rounded teaspoonfulls and bake as directed above.

Ingredients:

SIFT TOGETHER AND SET ASIDE:
1 Cup + 2 Tblsp. flour
1/2 Tsp. baking soda
1/2 Tsp. salt

CREAM TOGETHER:
1/2 Cup butter or Crisco shortening
NOTE: shortening yields firm cookies with more walnut flavor
6 Tbsp. granulated sugar
6 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 Tsp. vanilla
1/4 Tsp. water

REMAINING:
1 egg
16 oz. package of chocolate chips
1/2 cup crushed walnuts optional
