Basic Card Design for Decipher's CCG:

  1. Affiliation Icon: This determines whether the card is Rebel, Imperial, Droid, Weapon, Device, Interrupt, Effect, Creature, Objective, Epic Event, etc.
  2. Card Name: The card name is sometimes referred to by some other cards (e.g. Luke's Back or Krayt Dragon Howl). Dots next to the name determine the cards uniqueness. One dot is unique and only one card can be on the table at a time. Two dots means there can be two on table and so on.
  3. Destiny Number: Destiny numbers are used to draw battle destiny, weapon destiny, or any other type of destiny. Some cards have more than one destiny number (e.g. R2-D2). Other cards might have a different type of destiny number (e.g. Brainiac or EG-6). Site and System locations have no destiny number and are treated as zero.
  4. Lore: Lore tells you a bit about the card and determines certain characteristics (e.g. Han Solo - Smuggler and Gambler). Other cards may reference the characteristics of other cards (e.g. Oota Goota Solo).
  5. Power: Power determines your strength against your opponent. Each character has a power value including droids. Power values range from 0 to *. Some characters have an asterix as a power value (e.g. Tusken Raider or Brainiac). Their text will determine what that value is.
  6. Ability: Ability is used to determine whether you have wounded "hit" a character or not. It is also called a "defense value." Many cards target a characters ability or defense value. Some cards do not have an ability (e.g. Droids and Creatures) and are merely treated as an ability of zero. Some cards have a defense value in place of ability (e.g. Creatures, Ishi Tib and Boba Fett). Ability values range from 0 to 7.
  7. Extra Box: In this extra box you will find force information and defense values. Force information is as follows:
    • 0 - 2 = None or normal
    • 3 = Force-Attuned
    • 4 - 5 = Force-Sensitive
    • 6 = Jedi Knight
    • 7 = Jedi Master
  8. Deploy Cost and Forfeit value: Deploy cost is what it takes to deploy a card. Cards with a deploy cost include character cards, vehicle cards, starship cards and artillery weapons. All cards with a deploy cost in this way also have a forfeit value. Some cards do not have a forfeit value (e.g. Most creatures).
  9. Text Box: The text box gives the player certain information that can be helpful during a game. Some cards subtract from the deploy cost, limit where a card can be deployed or allow you to search and take a card from your reserve deck. Many cards have useful text.
  10. Icons: These icons determine characteristics such as warrior or pilot. They also inform you of permanent weapons a character may hold (e.g. Obi-Wan with lightsaber) which may also be referenced in the cards text.
  11. Picture Box: In this box the card will feature a clear screen shot from the movie.
